Article: The beautiful alternative
We vote green! You have probably heard a lot about the effects of green tea. But what does its main component, the secondary plant substance epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) actually do? Well: Every cell contains chromosomes. And these chromosomes are attached to small threads – the telomeres. Unfortunately, when our cells divide, these threads become shorter and shorter and eventually lead to cell death. However, there is an enzyme that can prevent the telomeres from becoming shorter and shorter: telomerase. And this is exactly what is contained in EGCG. Unfortunately, the whole thing only works when the intestines are involved, as they convert the substance into its fantastic anti-aging properties.
